Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees Launch Leadership Academy

FORT BEND, August 15, 2017 – The Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees announces the launch of the FBISD Board Leadership Academy, and will name participants in late September. The six-session course is designed for community members who want to learn more about FBISD and get a behind-the-scenes look at the systems and processes utilized in the day-to-day operations of the District.
“We are thrilled to announce the FBISD Board Leadership Academy. This is just one more part of the Board’s commitment to enhancing community engagement, by providing community members a deep-dive perspective of the District, as well as giving them the tools they need to advocate for our students,” said Kristin Tassin, FBISD Board President. “This inaugural class will be selected by invitation to ensure we have representation from across the District, crossing all interest areas, and is made up of highly-motivated stakeholders who have expressed interest in getting more involved. In subsequent years, we plan to have an open-nomination selection process.”
Between October and April, participants will attend four evening training sessions, as well as a half-day opening retreat and a day-trip to the Capitol in January 2018. (-FBISD)
