Diwali celebration for children at Sugar Land Branch Library

The Youth Services department at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sugar Land Branch Library will recognize the culture of India in a “Celebration of Diwali” on Thursday, November 12, beginning at 4:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 550 Eldridge.

Children in grades K through 5 are invited to learn about Diwali, one of the most important Hindu festivals across India and in parts of Nepal.

Also known as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali is celebrated in autumn every year.
Library staff member Bharathi Ramakrishnan will show children how to make traditional lanterns, sweet Indian milk treats, and Sand Art.
