(1) Remain Calm. Call the police.
(2) Do not leave the scene before the police arrive and, if necessary, the paramedics arrive.
(3) Pull over to a safe location to exchange contact information including: name, telephone number, license number, insurance company name and telephone number, and take pictures of the car.
(4) Get names and contact information for any witnesses.
(5) Do not make any statements to anyone about the collision except the police.
(6) Do not admit fault.
(7) After the collision, consult a doctor for your injuries.

Insurance companies will use all tactics to not pay you the money you deserve. For example, gaps in treatment, inconsistent treatment and different body parts treated, irrelevant treatments, overpriced treatments, and “soft” injury accidents vs. “hard” injury (involving broken bones) accidents are all old and worn out excuses. It is highly recommended that you contact a qualified attorney to assist you in recovering all damages including: past and future medical bills, lost wages, physical pain, and mental anguish.
